Pie-Roo
Pie-Roo is an authentic Australian bakehouse that bridges the gap between heritage baking and modern street culture. Specializing in handcrafted meat pies with 14-hour slow-braised fillings, the brand is built on the philosophy of "Proper Food, Made Properly." By combining artisanal quality with a high-energy "No Worries" attitude, Pie-Roo has redefined the classic Aussie snack for a new generation of food lovers. It is where tradition meets the street.
The objective was to develop a comprehensive brand world centered around a charismatic mascot named "Roo." The visual system needed to be versatile enough to transition from premium, flavor-coded packaging to high-fashion streetwear and digital-first social campaigns. We aimed to create a "Modern-Retro" Australian aesthetic that feels both nostalgic and aggressively fresh.
The primary challenge was to elevate the humble, traditional meat pie into a premium, desirable lifestyle brand. We had to balance "Outback" ruggedness with a clean, designer-led visual language that appeals to urban audiences without losing its authentic, handcrafted soul.
We developed a character-led identity using a minimalist 2D ink-line mascot paired with a sophisticated, flavor-coded palette (Ochre, Teal, Lavender, and Rose). This was supported by a "Mixed Media" photography strategy—clashing high-energy, "Hard Flash" lifestyle shots with hyper-realistic product macros—to prove that for Pie-Roo, what’s inside truly matters.
